The Greens
In 1989, the Greens pulled up roots from Baton Rouge, LA and moved to Costa Rica for language and cultural learning. The following year, they moved to Memphis, TN where Frances gave birth to their oldest child and Gary pursued a masters degree in Bible. From 1993-2000, they lived and worked in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela as missionaries, leaving behind one congregation that has since planted three more. After returning to the states at the end of 2000, they moved to Abilene, TX where they currently reside. They have four children living in different parts of the USA. When they are not on the road or phone taking care of missionaries, they love to spend time visiting their children, gardening, hiking or settling in to a good movie.

Gary
Gary completed a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at LSU in 1987. Later he returned to school for a Master of Arts in Religion from the Harding School of Theology. Following their years in missions, Gary worked at Abilene Christian University where taught and co-established a missions internship program that has sent over 800 students to the mission field for 6-10 weeks. Due to the need for good debriefing materials, Gary wrote a book for debriefing (link). This also led to his recruiting and training 9 longer term mission teams and assisting in the training of 7 others. Over time, his personal concern for the wellbeing of these teams played a major role in leaving the university in order to focus exclusively on missionary care. He is an active golfer and nature lover.
